Position Summary

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Financial Accountant is responsible for the overall daily administration of financial transactions to ensure accuracy of General Ledgers of parent and subsidiary accounts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Comprehensive knowledge of accounts payable/receivable principles
  • Ensures recording of supplier invoices against outstanding purchase orders and ensures accuracy of coding to project/invoice
  • Oversees bi-weekly payroll and leads payroll process (ADP) and reporting to ensure seamless payroll activities
  • Records payments made against supplier invoices
  • Issues customer sales invoices and follow-up as required
  • Records customer receipts and reconciles or matches against sales invoices
  • Files monthly HST reports
  • Prepares monthly bank reconciliations in Odoo
  • Creates ad-hoc and standard financial reports
  • Adherence to internal processes and procedures and compliance with tax withholding/reporting requirements
  • Oversee Odoo system – Accounting system of record
  • Support financial reporting activities
  • Other duties as assigned

 Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field; will consider commensurate experience
  • 5-6 years’ experience in accounting, finance or related field
  • Previous payroll administration and experience in Odoo system is considered an asset; Odoo training will be provided
  • Previous experience in payroll processing preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
